First Level Protection (Elimination) —Physical Distancing

Measures

Protocols and Guidelines

No more than 50 people in any one place within the performing facility.
Everyone is expected to practice physical (social) distancing and keep two (2) meters (6 feet) between themselves and any other person.
Wearing of a non-medical face mask is recommended however if unable to keep two (2) meters between themselves and any other person a non-medical face mask or face covering must be worn. .
Restrict access of any person, including members of the public (patrons) and QLA members exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and people who have come into contact with a person who has been tested positive or waiting a test result for COVID-19 to the event.
Limit onsite QLA activities to essential roles and responsibilities—back of house personnel, front of house personnel, performance coordinator
Restrict ticket sales at the door; all tickets must be purchased online through QLA website (qla.ca). Wait list for returned tickets
Cancellation and refund/exchange Policy and procedure
Restrict activities such as patrons standing by the stage, photo opportunities, autographs, backstage access.
Restrict back of house workers to essential personal only
Limit occupancy in washroom
Eliminate intermission; hold shorter performances; smaller number of performing acts
Where possible, hold events outdoors instead of indoors
Open the lobby at the same time as house to allow patrons to move directly to seats and remain in their seats for the duration of the show.
Assign seating or seating pattern
Prohibit loitering in the lobby and hallways; remove all chairs
Different points of entry and exit from high traffic areas (facility and house) have been established for QLA members, patrons and performers.
Egress from the performing house will be from back to front.
Cones (barriers) will be used to redirect people who may gather in the lobby or washrooms
Designated walk ways/one way walkways
Floor markings, lines or cones will be used to show proper distancing in areas where patrons are required to wait in line.

Wherever feasible, performers should put on and adjust their own headphones, in-ear monitors and microphones. Avoid shared equipment

Various communication methods with QLA members on protocols and guidelines including:
·         Performance Operation update—includes communications that remind QLA members that, where possible, remind patrons on social distancing while entering the facility or theatre or when waiting in line. If they observe grouping together in the facility, QLA members would approach patrons in a friendly and calm manner and remind them politely about the floor markers and the need to respect social distancing, including the 2 meter rule, per Public Health requirements.

Second Level Protection (Engineering)

If physical distancing of 2 m (6 ft) cannot be maintained between performers, install barriers such as plexiglass or mute shields between musicians, where possible.

Third Level Protection (Administrative)—Rules and Guidelines

Washrooms will be maintained with soap
Hand sanitizer will be made available at entrances into performing facility and theatre.
Hands must be washed/hand sanitizer must be used before entering the performing facility and theatre, after handling/touching shared equipment, tools, bathroom surfaces; after using the washroom, after coughing or sneezing and after cleaning and disinfecting
QLA members must practice good cough/sneeze etiquette including turning head away from others when coughing or sneezing; covering mouth/nose with a sleeve of tissue when coughing or sneezing; disposing of used tissues in waste containers; washing hands and avoiding touching their face.
Avoid sharing of tools, equipment, props, instruments, musical scores and all other items.
Use wipeable covers (i.e. plastic sandwich bags) for microphones,
Cleaning and disinfecting procedure—shared items, production equipment and cargo unloaded at the venue.
Self-Isolation Policy and procedures

·         Signage located at the front doors for QLA members, performers and patrons to consider before enter the store—includes a reminder that individuals should not enter if they have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, difficulty breathing, recently travelled out of Canada.
·         Proper hand washing and/or use of hand sanitizers instruction posters
·         Cough/sneeze etiquette instruction posters
·         Signage on instruction to patrons re: expectations around audience behavior, regular egress, emergency egress and washroom use.

Fourth Level Protection (PPE)—Using masks (optional measure in addition to other control measures)

Non-medical facemasks or face covering must be worn by QLA members and patrons attending the event when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Disposable gloves are available must be worn by QLA members when cleaning and disinfecting; touching shared equipment.
Face shield, face mask and disposable gloves must be worn by QLA members responsible for collecting tickets, manning the concession and retail vendor at performing facility.

COVID-19 CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURE

This procedure addresses the cleaning and disinfecting efforts to maintain the performing facility, theatre and house free from virus and disease.

PPE

The designated person will be required to wear impermeable gloves like disposable nitrile gloves while performing their duties cleaning and sanitizing.
A disinfecting agent, such as a quick disinfectant i.e. Fantastik such as will be used to clean and sanitize high contact surfaces; dressing rooms must be cleaned and.
